"I've been an English/Writing tutor since 2017. I initially worked as a writing consultant for Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMUCC), then became a writing professor within their First Year Writing Program, where I've worked on and off since 2018. I also worked as an English as a Second Language tutor for TAMUCC until 2021. After being laid off during the pandemic, I switched over to working as a freelance English/Writing tutor, which I currently still do part time. I occasionally still work as an adjunct writing professor for TAMUCC, but only on an as-needed basis.

I have a teaching certification for English, Language Arts, and Reading for grades 7-12 and for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I have experience working in classroom, online, and hybrid classes, with an empahsis in online learning. I also have experience teaching whole-class and one-on-one sessions. My students range in ages from 12-20.

My teaching method is student-centered, with an empasis on allowing my students to guide the session. My students tell me what they're working on and what they're struggling with, and then I explain and model how to find the solution or how they can make their own corrections to their work. Some students require more explaining and modelling than others, which I am more than willing to provide. From there, I allow the student to try their assignment again, using the techniques we reviewed, and then we work through the student's response together.
