"I love being a tutor; I find it to be gratifying and it also allows me to keep a flexible schedule so that I may continue my education while working as a Master of Science student in Marriage and Family Therapy. My teaching style is child directed; I take a follow the leader approach when needed and a directive approach when necessary. I work with children of all ages, emotional/behavioral issues, ADD, ADHD, Autism and other learning disabilities as well. I am available most days for after school tutoring and daytime home school as well."
I Graduated from the University of Texas Pan American in December 2012 with a BS in Psychology and I began attending Capella to obtain my MS in Marriage and Family Counseling and Therapy in 2013. I live in South Texas, near the border of Mexico and I am aspiring to open my own practice in this area which incorporates Family Therapy and Play Therapy in a tranquil setting. I will be a strong advocate who places the needs of the client as priority by utilizing self awareness and culturally diverse understanding. I currently work at a beautiful nature park called the National Butterfly Center. My favorite part of the job is providing a educational experience for children and adults concerning nature and the protection of our environment. Before this recent status I was a family Nanny for the better part of ten years, merchandiser, tutor, sales, and personal assistant. Though my other jobs were part of my learning experience, being a private family Nanny gave me a front row seat into the dynamics of the family system within diverse cultures and different socioeconomic statuses.
