I also work at a Historic Site where I lead tours, contribute to historical research, and create presentations for school groups. I love working with students and my passion for history comes through when I dress the part for the class as well as bring in props for students.
I absolutely love talking about history and most importantly I love helping students understand history. To me, history is not just about memorizing facts, but about seeing the continuity and change over time. History can be so much fun and I pride myself in being able to make even a seemingly boring subject come to life!
I taught Individualized Instruction for history as my first year teaching role before I moved to World History. In my most recent role, I have taught special education for 5 years where I have collaborated with our American History teacher in assisting with planning lessons, teaching, and executing history activities. I have also had the opportunity to bring in historical lessons for English I and English II.
I very much look forward to helping students pursue studies in history! Learning can be fun!" less...
