"Hello!
It is a pleasure to be able to help you/your student thrive in learning science content and understanding important school skills. I have a passion for helping students of all skill levels succeed by meeting them at their current level and helping them grow. Growth looks different for each student, which means that the assistance needed to help them varies as well. Each one of my students, whether they are honors or AP students, or individuals who have major gaps in schooling/education, have been able to use the differentiated tools, techniques, and guidance to improve using my help.
After attending Ohio State, I taught at New Albany High School (Hnrs Bio, Bio, Hnrs Bio w/BioMed) until moving to Seattle in 2020 to teach at a juvenile rehabilitation center for incarcerated youth. These two experiences were about as disparate as one can imagine, but my passion and enthusiasm for my kids was the same.
I believe that learning is a process that happens best when you embrace failure, challenges, and help from others. I teach in a very hands-on, student-led, and reiterative method, in which the learning process is always growing based on the needs of my students. I am trained in Modeling instruction, which highlights critical thinking skills, analysis, questioning, and experiences through authentic problem-solving.
I have tutored 1-on-1, in which I helped students with their subjects as well as life-skills, study methods, and organizational techniques.
I am open to tutoring in-person if you are within my radius, or to virtual tutoring through Zoom or GoogleMeet.
I am excited to help you/ your student become successful and excited about the learning process, especially in the incredible realm of scientific discovery!" less...
