"Hello, my name is Erica. I am a UCLA graduate, summa cum laude, with a B.A. in French. In the course of my academic studies, I was employed at UCLA as a language assistant to my French professor, sponsored by the Consulate General of France in Los Angeles. In my role, I helped design bilingual websites that certify teachers to work in French and English schools.
After I graduated, I moved to France to be an English Assistant in TAPIF (Teaching Assistant Program in France). I assisted in teaching English to French children through reading stories, teaching vocabulary, and helping them complete assignments. I also taught French students, one on one, ages 10 to 16, in English.
This past summer, I worked as a French instructor during an international school summer camp program. There, I was able to utilize my knowledge to created lesson plans in French and instruct the children. I gave presentations and used worksheets, vocabulary cards, music and learning games to improve the students' French.
I currently give French lessons to American children, and I would love to work with all ages. I think that one of the most important things about learning a new language is that it should be fun, so I do everything I can to have my students enjoy the lessons while learning at the same time. I am very patient, as I know learning a new language is anything but easy, and the learner should be praised for their effort and hard work. I am very passionate about teaching and the French language, and I can't wait to help YOU reach all of your French goals!" less...
