"My educational philosophy is that anyone can succeed given the right direction and instruction. Having taught in the inner-city for the past nine years, I have worked with some of the most challenged students; however, I share two great success stories: The first is a young woman who took my tenth and twelfth grade English classes. She won a full scholarship to Dartmouth University where she is a student today. My second, is Jose Serrano. Jose was my student at UCONN Stamford. He came from Peru and sought to improve his English writing skills. I tutored him and two years later, Jose transferred to Yale where he became editor of one of the university's publications.

An experienced communicator and educator, I worked for several years in Advertising and Public Relations before earning a teaching degree. I have taught a variety of subjects including AP English Language, Communications, Developmental Reading and Writing, SAT preparation, American and British Literature. My passion for history is evident in my lesson plans. I believe literature is meaningless unless the student understands the social and political climate of a period.
