"I graduated from Northwest Nazarene University in December of 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. My studies of history include American, European, and Asian History, stretching from ancient civilizations to the modern period. After graduation I applied for and moved to South Korea where I worked as an ESL Instructor in the public school system. When I returned to the U.S. I worked as a substitute teacher for the Lewiston School District. I also began working as a one on one tutor at Lewis Clark State College for a couple of their lower level students. From there I taught in their specialized program with a School from Mexico. The following Spring, I returned as a an adjunct ESL Instructor. Tutoring allows for a more focused and individualized lesson plan that caters to the student's strengths in learning styles, while targeting their weak areas.
I earned my TESOL Certificate from Korea Nazarene University in Cheonan, South Korea, where thereafter, I spent 18 months teaching English as a Second Language in South Korea. I have spent the last 13 months teaching English as a Second Language at Lewis Clark State College in the Institute of Intensive English. My students have ranged from ages 8-28 and come from a variety of nations including: Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Mexico, Haiti, Kazakhstan, Peru, Mali, and Saudi Arabia.
History is my main background. I earned my degree in history covering everything from American, European, and Asian History. I spent two summers interning at the Nez Perce County Historical Society where I worked on their digital photo collection and on the preservation of artifacts both physical and written.
