"I'm a TEFL certified English as a Second Language teacher who has lived and taught in Japan, China, Korea, Thailand and Turkey. My students have ranged in age from 5 to 65 and basic to advanced English levels. Though I returned to America only two months ago, I already miss helping students from other countries gain better opportunities through improved English skills.

I begin by getting to know a student while assessing their level and need. This is not done with a 'test' but in a general conversation where students are made to feel at ease. It has been my experience that the biggest obstacle students face is fear of making mistakes. Because of this, I work hard to give students more than vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation assistance. I help them develop the confidence they need to reach the next level of English proficiency.
