"Essay writing and scriptwriting is like surgery. I have checked hundreds of essays, short stories, poems, short scripts, treatments, and college application personal statements and assignments. My coaching involves impromptu feedback with critique and positive reinforcement.

When reviewing college admission essays, I ascertain that the student/applicant maximizes all potential selling-points for their storytelling. If you just want to hand over an essay without a meet-up session, I charge about 1 hour for 200-1000 words and charge more for additional extensive work.

When it comes to evaluating treatments and screenplays, I look for natural flow and potential plot developments. A 1-hour session may be worth 10-12 screenplay pages. Anything more than 15 pages will be beyond a 1-hour session.

At the University of Houston, I was a known feedback giver among fellow Creative Writers, whether it was skimming for grammar or the logistics of the narrative storytelling. I analyze classics from the pop-cultural hit Harry Potter to the conventional classics like the Scarlet Letter. Although my days of taking ACTs and SATs have long passed, I possess the deductive tricks (courtesy of Latin classes) to test sections involving reading comprehension (I applied these tricks to the pesky vocab section).

I possess a BA in filmmaking and have script consulted for Houston short films. I have tweaked screenplays and treatments. I can tutor on the basics of Final Cut and Adobe Premiere and adapt to other editing software.
