"Hi there!
My name is Alejandra, and I've been working as a tutor for high school and college students for the past twenty years. I offer highly personalized academic support for a small number of long-term students and clients.
I feel that ALL students benefit from the one-one-one focused attention of a tutor, whether they are struggling academically or not. I maintain an active tutoring roster of only eight students at any given time, so that I can bring my maximum focus to each student's individual needs.
I graduated from Yale with Honors in English & Spanish Literature in 2004. I have recently moved back to my hometown of Portland, Maine, after years in New York City, Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
I provide tutoring sessions tailored to the students' individual needs. While my specialties are English (literary analysis & writing skills) and Spanish (all levels), I also love to tutor History (American & World), and have years of experience working with students on these subjects.
I also have many years of experience working with students as they prepare for the daunting days of standardized tests, including the ACT, SAT and GRE.
Finally, I offer in-depth college counseling and college essay brainstorming, composition guidance, and essay editing.
Students respond well to my friendly, relaxed approach, and I enjoy getting to know my students as people and helping to guide them through their high school and/or college years. If you are looking for long-term academic support and personalized guidance and mentoring, please don't hesitate to contact me today.
I look forward to working with you or your student!
Best Wishes,
