At Smith, I graduated with High Honors and completed an honors thesis in English Literature. I also received the Elizabeth Babcock Prize for Poetry at the time of graduation. This summer, I worked as a teaching assistant for the Smith College Pre-College program, teaching creative writing and college readiness. Alongside professional writers and educators, I taught high school students key skills such as character development, dialogue, fiction formatting, poetry, and college-level essay writing skills. As a college readiness coach at the program, students learned how to make their Common App and supplementary essays stand out, how to conduct a flawless interview, and essay-writing strategies to prepare for college classes.
I enjoy working with students to micro-analyze their work and properly structure sentences, paragraphs, and whole essays or creative pieces. Together, I hope to help students build up their word-banks, cut down or bulk up their written work, and craft a stellar college essay.
