"What I love about tutoring is the great way for me to help my students learn. Tutoring offers my students and I an opportunity for one-on-one interaction, and just focus my support on that one student’s problem areas.
This is a welcome break for me from the typical classroom situation and an added addition to my lesson plan activities. The purpose of me tutoring is to advice: (1) To improve the educational achievement of my student. (2) To enhance my student's self-esteem and confidence in his/her ability to learn U.S. and World History. (3) To introduce my student to the world outside the classroom through interaction with my experience and confidence as their adult road model. (4) Create fun and new opportunities for reading. (5) Allow my student to immediately and constructively give me their feedback on our lesson plan together. (6) I will improve my student’s motivational and performance skills.
My personal concern for my student is to realize they are my greatest asset as a tutor. Understanding that what we do is as important to their education and build a relationship of mutual confidence for a passing grade. I have completed my degree in Bachelor of Arts history Education (BA), University of Maryland University College. I am presently enrolled in the Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Graduate Program, University of Maryland University College: Secondary Education Teacher’s Certification. Major: (History & Social Studies), University of Maryland University College. I have completed a one year Internship Program at Westlake High School Waldorf, Charles County, Maryland." less...
