"My name is Lindsay Deen, and I am a tutor possessing over 15 years of experience in many different subjects. Currently residing next to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado Springs, CO, I enjoy connecting all learning to reality. "My name is Lindsay Deen, and I am a tutor possessing over 15 years of experience in many different subjects. Currently residing next to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado Springs, CO, I enjoy connecting all learning to reality. While abstractions can be fun, I know that students need the knowledge they're learning to apply to the real world.
Whether it's learning how to write a timed response, studying Japanese, understanding budgeting and finance, making and editing movies, working algebra problems, or writing a paper, I'm adept in multiple subjects and can assist students in connecting to subject matter in many different ways. I have successfully tutored over 500 students in my career.
I began tutoring at Pikes Peak Community College (PPCC), first working as a peer tutor for math, English, and science. I began working with the PPCC Writing Center about a year before graduating from PPCC. I became a professional member of the PPCC Writing Center after finishing my Associates Degree. While working at the Pikes Peak Community College Writing Center, I also began working at the Writing Center at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs (UCCS). I continued working at the PPCC Writing Center until 2016, when they laid off all their professional tutors and moved to a peer-only tutoring model. After that, I worked with Tutor Doctors LLC as an in-home tutor, and now I currently work through Wyzant, Tutors.com, and through my own company, L. M. Deen Consulting, LLC to tutor students in middle and high school as well as college.
I have tutored Japanese, pre-algebra, algebra 1 & 2, statistics, biostatistics, biology, chemistry, life science, astronomy, history, English, and multiple courses on sustainability at the undergraduate and graduate levels. I have worked with students in middle and high school as well as college students at the graduate and undergraduate levels. I also have helped students prepare for the ASVAB, SAT, ACT, and Accuplacer tests in addition to the GRE and the senior comprehensive exam" less...
