I have tutored students in college as well as my family members in various subjects. I am proficient in Pre K- 10th Grade Math & Statistics. I have great study skills and am able to help students better their grades just by adjusting their habits. I have been tutoring privately for 5 years now in school as well as out side of school. My tutoring approach is to let students struggle with the material while proving them guidance at the times they need. I believe that learning is done in a two step process. The first step is struggling and seeing how the student thinks through a problem or a concept. The second is correcting or adjusting that concept or misconception he or she has. In addition, the student must be able to see the real world application of the concept they are learning. If the student cannot visualize or make sense of how the current topic is used or seen in the real world, then he or she will have a negative inclination towards the material and will say that it doesn't matter and not worth learning. This mindset is only adjusted by controlling the manner of teaching.I have had success over the years with these methods and I am flexible to learning more and reworking my teaching framework.
