"Hola! My name is Claudia G, and I was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I moved to the states in 2016 to pursue my B.A. I graduated Rowan University magna cum laude with a degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences: Spanish and Business in 2019. During my time in school, I had the honor of working at the Early Childhood Development Center where I discovered my love for children and teaching.
In September 2019, I started my first year teaching at Highland High School in Blackwood, New Jersey. I taught Spanish Levels 1 and 2 to students from the ages of 15-18, along with students with IEP's and 504's. My classrooms were mostly comprised of 25-30 students which were mostly centered on student centered discussions. I provided time and help for those students during lunch and after school.
Learning a new language can be a bit intimidating and challenging. Having learned Spanish as my first language to slowly adapt English as a second language presented challenges and growth that I was able to learn from. My enthusiasm, Spanish background and studied English at a Private School allowed me to be fully bilingual in both languages.
I want to benefit the students that I work with as much as possible, so any suggestions and/or resources students or parents can provide will be welcomed. I also strive to develop a meaningful connection and understanding of your child's goals and needs. I am easy to reach and always respond within the hour. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson." less...
