"I’m thrilled to introduce myself. My name is Michelle S., and I am a creative and inventive thinker, learner, and teacher. l am incredibly honored for the opportunity to get to know every one of my students as individuals who have their own learning styles.

I am certified to teach English Language Arts for 6th through 12th grade. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and a Master’s Degree in Secondary English Education. I am AP (Advanced Placement) certified through the College Board.

I have extensive experience working at the college level as well as developing and implementing Reading and Writing curriculum. My background is in Composition and Rhetoric. I specialize in Developmental Reading and Writing as well as Advanced Placement Literature and Language. I currently teach 10th grade English II and English II Honors. I work with my students to use web 2.0 tools and to understand digital literacy.

Education empowers and inspires us! I am here to help you build confidence as a writer and to think and read critically. Learning is not a one-size-fits-all experience. As a result, my teaching methods vary based on the needs of my students. We are on this learning journey together. I work with the whole child and include visual and auditory aids.

I will answer all of your questions; we will discuss your learning goals; we will set up a tutoring schedule; we will establish mutual expectations and tutoring policies.
