"Hi, I'm Christina! I've been teaching for five years to grades PreK-3 through twelfth grade. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Houston Christian University with a degree in elementary education. I am certified in early childhood through 6th grade core subjects and all-level technology. I have experience working with students one-on-one both in the classroom and while tutoring. I have tutored elementary math and taught private coding and robotics lessons in the past. I specialize in STEM subjects, but I have experience in other content areas as well.
My approach to tutoring is to ask the student what they are learning and what has been the most difficult for them. If they do not know, we can just begin reviewing the content until we find something challenging for them. I like to explain the content in different ways to see what makes a better connection. With subjects like math and science, it can be helpful to review related concepts to ensure there are no learning gaps causing the issue. I love being able to work with a single student and really help them learn and achieve to their fullest potential without all of the distractions of a full classroom.
