"I am currently in my 28th year of teaching. My teaching journey began in India where I taught college Physics for 3 years before coming to the US to Johns Hopkins University to get a PhD in Astrophysics. While at Johns Hopkins University, I taught many undergraduate courses from Physics 101 & 102 which all engineering students have to take to Statistical Mechanics which is a 4th year undergraduate course. After Hopkins, I took an 12 year hiatus from the formal teaching world and plunged into tutoring. This was also the time that I was growing my family so tutoring was the best fit for me. Over the past 5 years I have gone back to in person teaching at a private high school.

To me teaching is about helping students learn. Each student learns differently and key is to figure out how they learn. This is why I enjoy tutoring because it gives me the opportunity to work one on one with students and understand their learning style. I focus on making sure to address my student's weaknesses through problem solving and explaining an idea in multiple ways so that my students can grasp the most difficult of concepts. I tutored many students for AP exams (all the Calculus and Physics exams) and all my students have earned 5s. While their hard work was the main reason for their success, I do think that I helped them soar.
