"I'm Nat! I graduated Amherst College with a triple major in Physics, Sociology, and Education Studies and a 3.7 GPA. I specialize in tutoring middle school, high school, pre-med, and introductory college level physics, the SAT, the ACT, middle school math, and any math through calculus.
My sophomore year, the Physics Department hired me as a teaching assistant for their introductory physics classes. I worked as a teaching assistant for three years, primarily helping students with mechanics, waves, and electromagnetic theory. The courses covered all AP Physics material, then moved to more in-depth content. They were often taken by pre-med students. Working in discussion sections and help sessions I supported students with the physics material as well as the necessary background algebra, calculous, and trigonometry. Additionally, my performance as a teaching assistant lead me to by hired as a private physics tutor, where I supported students who needed help keeping up with the material.
Aside from physics, I enjoy tutoring the ACT and SAT, particularly the math sections. Scoring in the 99th percentile on the ACT and SAT, as well as getting an 800 on the SAT Math 2 Subject Test, I am confident I can show students some tricks and practice methods.
I also have experience working with middle and elementary school students. I tutored a middle school student in math and English for three years over Zoom. Additionally, this past summer, I was the director of a youth sailing camp with twenty middle and elementary school campers. I have six years of experience teaching complex ideas to younger students, so I know what strategies to apply for each individual task and learner to help them succeed best.
