"I am excited that you are considering me as a tutor! I earned my Bachelor's degree in elementary education, graduating with honors in 2016. Tutoring students in 1st-8th grade classrooms for three and a half years, followed by student teaching one semester of 1st grade, was the highlight of my undergraduate career. I worked full time in a Chicago public high school during the 2016-2017 school year, tutoring 9th and 10th grade students in algebra and geometry. Since 2018, I have been a private tutor, working with elementary and high school students who find me on Wyzant and through other arrangements. I have discovered that whatever the age of the student, or the subject at hand, I enjoy helping students to find ways to optimize their strengths with an individually tailored approach to meet their specific needs. The key to learning is building a positive relationship in which the student can focus and thrive, and I am committed to bringing this, my greatest strength as an educator, to every student I have the privilege of tutoring.

My mathematical accuracy, knowledge and ability allow me to help students (K-12) to analyze their mathematical processes so that they are able to improve their method and approach to mathematics. I am able to catch mistakes as well as the reason behind the mistakes. My background in elementary education enables me to identify the developmental gaps and reteach those concepts effectively so that students are able to rise to the next level, while simultaneously enabling them to succeed at their current level of study.

As a former elementary school tutor and teacher, I am comfortable and experienced tutoring more than just math. I am able to assist students in multiple subjects. This kind of versatility enables students to receive additional assistance without changing tutors.
