"I’ve worked in education since the early ‘90s, teaching and leading groups and individuals from toddlers through adults. I started my career as a social studies classroom teacher for grades 8-12. After a move, I worked in a preschool, teaching three-year-olds and developing a curriculum for the facility. A move to Colorado took me back into middle/high school-teaching English, Math, Social Studies, and Science to students on probation, parole, and in the social services system. In 2002, I moved to a public school setting. For the past twenty years, I have worked in a culturally and linguistically diverse public high school. These days, I teach social studies to students with learning and behavior differences. I enjoy teaching 9th-grade orientation classes to students both with and without special education plans. I have also been the special education teacher in teamed Algebra 2 and Science.

Through tutoring outside of my classroom, I can continue helping students who struggle with reading, writing, math, and other school skills. I enjoy working with students of all ages and having an impact on their educational journey. Because of my diverse experience, I can offer tutoring support in many different subjects and levels. Some of my licenses and endorsements include: Colorado certified Special Education Teacher, Moderate and Severe Affective Needs, ages 5-21, Colorado certified Social Studies Teacher, Secondary, District Highly Qualified English Teacher. I have 10+ years of experience teaching and tutoring math, 20+ years of experience teaching and tutoring English, reading, writing, and associated language arts topics, 5+ years teaching and supporting science, over 30 years teaching social studies.
