"I'm Nina and I have a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and an M.B.A. both from Kettering University in Flint, MI. I have over 20 years of experience in the engineering industry. I have years of experience tutoring 1st through 3rd graders in reading and math as a volunteer. I'm also an Elementary level Reading & Math Program Coordinator that tutors a small focus group of 10 students (3 years of experience). Although, my passion is helping Elementary school students, I also have tutored math privately for High School students.

My engineering mindset makes it easier for me to understand the thought process that a student is taking when approaching a math problem. This helps me easily assess target areas for improvement. Students learn tips to logical thinking with completing math problems.

My passion for teaching students to read and write are apparent in my tutoring approach. I incorporate activities into each tutoring session to help my students stay engaged and help them apply what they are learning to real life.
