"I am a former Wall Street quant with degrees in Math, Computer Science and Finance. I have been tutoring since my days on the Math Team at Stuyvesant HS. I was a high school teacher for a brief time and, more recently, I taught Probability and Statistics at Stony Brook University for a few years, where I received the President's Award for Excellence in Teaching.

I tutor the high school basics (Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2), the advanced courses (PreCalculus, AP Calculus, and AP Statistics), and a variety of college courses (my favorites are Probability, DIscrete Math, and Finite Math).

I believe that learning mathematics is about understanding important concepts, not memorizing a series of formulas and recipes; that obtaining the answer by using a specific method is less important than trying to understand a problem and then possibly devising another method of solution which works best for the student." less...
