"I'm Jordan! I graduated from Mills College with two Bachelor's degrees in Dance and Cell and Molecular Biology. My favorite teachers in college were the ones who went out of their way to explain things from different experiences, in ways to which we could all relate. These teachers, across several disciplines, helped me find connections between subjects and discovered my passion for teaching with a multi-disciplinary approach. I try to bring these characteristics to my own tutoring style, so learning can be as enjoyable as possible for everyone.
After college, I worked as an educational therapist teaching literacy remediation for students with learning differences. I worked one on one with students ages 4-25 and catered lesson plans to include various learning styles, from tactile and kinesthetic learning methods to more visual and auditory methods. These students taught me to work with patience and humility and I strive to apply the same problem-solving creativity to all my lessons. I firmly believe that there is no "one size fits all" approach to learning. In addition to tutoring, I am a professional freelance dancer and teach creative movement for grades K-8. I also offer private/small group ballet and modern dance classes for teenagers and adults.

An example of this might look like using colored markers and moving tactile objects, depending on the student's needs.
All the students I have worked with have taught me so much in return. I am always open to any feedback or resources and will provide quick responses. Feel free to contact me with any questions or to set up a lesson. I look" less...
