"Hello, I'm Jennifer. I have two major loves in this life, my beautiful three year old daughter, and my drop top Chevy :) I teach and tutor. In my free time, I paint, work out, and play roller derby. I've lived abroad for 9 years and recently moved to Ft. Worth to be around family. I like living inside the loop, and I enjoy all the great art and live music that Ft. Worth offers.
For 13 years now I have taught and tutored students and adults of all ages and ethnicities, from swimming and drawing to language and science. But my most taught subject is ESL, which I tutor in full time now and thoroughly enjoy!
I graduated from Texas A&M University, College Station, with a Journalism degree. I then received a Teaching English as a Foreign Language Certificate from the University of California, Irvine. While living in South Korea and Romania, I taught ESL to K-12 through core subjects at international schools, and on the weekends, I tutored adults one on one for TOEFL preparation, conversation, and business English.
In 2009 in Houston, I received a Standard Texas teaching certification for all middle school core subjects with an English as a Second Language supplement. I taught for 2 years within the Houston Independent School District then switched to ESL tutoring full time so that I could go abroad again. Recently I was teaching science for in Dallas ISD.
I have been painting for 10 years and and had the prevalence to complete the Houston art program at the Glassell School of Art in May 2012.
My tutoring technique falls into two categories based on whether the student wants to learn a new skill or prepare for a specific exam, such as the TOEFL, SAT, ACT...
