"Hi! My name is Rachel and I've been tutoring for over 15 years. I offer academic tutoring, writing help, editing, and organizational coaching for high school and college students, as well as flute lessons and rhythm tap dance lessons to students of all ages. In my academic tutoring work, I specialize primarily in writing-based humanities subjects such as English and History, as well as social sciences such as Psychology and Sociology. I tutor and teach from my home in Carrboro, as well as remotely via Zoom or Google Meet. I love working with my students, and it brings me joy to offer the support they need to succeed and thrive!

When I was in high school, I struggled with Geometry and Chemistry, and had a wonderful tutor who helped me get through those classes with good grades and a real enjoyment of each subject. My goal as a tutor is to be as helpful to my students as my tutor was for me, and my experience on the "other side" of tutoring has taught me to be patient and understanding with every student, even if it takes them a little longer to work out a problem.
