"Hi there, my name is Maya! I received my Master's Degree and Bachelor's Degree in History of Art from Johns Hopkins University. I graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Johns Hopkins University (top 10% of the graduating class; one of 50 students chosen) and was on Dean's List every semester. Throughout my undergraduate and graduate studies, I took classes in a wide variety of art historical time periods and also supplemented this coursework with proficiency in Italian, Spanish, and German.
Outside of my educational background, I've worked at acclaimed art museums (MoMA and the Baltimore Museum of Art) and global art auction houses (Christie's). I have a passion for art historical research and artwork curation. For the past four years, I've worked as a Curator for a contemporary art gallery, but am continually looking ways for engage with fellow art history buffs who are both new and experienced in the field.
Throughout high school and college, I ran editing workshops where I proofread students' art history essays and gave constructive feedback. I teach in a way that contextualizes history in a visual manner that is both engaging and thought-provoking.
