"Since 2015 I have mentored over 900 learners of all ages. I began as a high school peer tutor with the Boy’s and Girl’s Club. In college, I worked with Neighborhood Schools Program to provide affordable academic support to k-12 students on the South Side of Chicago and volunteered as an arts mentor for Chicago Public Schools. Most exciting, I have been a teaching assistant on archaeological field schools. I was a college varsity swimmer with 14 years in competition and taught many athletes to swim. After 2020 I began teaching art, history, writing and social science online to students around the world! I love helping people reach their goals and find their passion for learning.
My day job is as an archaeologist, with experience in technical writing and field research. I am a Registered Professional Archaeologist with a master’s in Maritime Archaeology from Flinders University (Chancellors Commendation 6.9/7.0 GPA). Additionally, I hold bachelor’s degrees in Anthropology as well as History and Philosophy of Science from the University of Chicago (Magna Cum Laude, 3.9/4.0 GPA). I also work as a Spanish-English interpreter and visual artist. I share my interests and specialised advice on archaeology, art history, anthropology, and social science research.
I have worked with learners seeking to comprehend course material, ace tests, improve writing skills, or boost their careers. I enjoy helping people with learning disabilities, aphasia, and mental health concerns. I adapt my teaching style to the individual needs of each student.
I have a history of academic achievement and share study skills with applicants. Several PhD, Ivy League college and high school applications I edited got into their top choice programs. I gained acceptance to Oxford among other selective schools. In high school, I obtained a GPA of 4.48/4.0, an SAT Perfect Score (Writing/Verbal) and 5 on AP English Lang., AP Spanish, AP World History, AP US History, AP Environmental Science, and AP US Gov/Politics." less...
