"I'm Symone! I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Art Education. In college, I came to a realization that it was the professors and not necessarily the topic that made class enjoyable. These professors where always engaging and comprehensible when teaching the material in the classroom, and always willing to go the extra mile and understanding when I needed help and clarification. I try to bring this knowledge to my own teaching, and try everything to make the learning experience enjoyable and pleasant. I use lesson plans in which I introduce the topic in a fun and creative way, then explicit;y teach the material. Afterwards I always try to insure time in which students will practice the material own. of course this can be adjusted based on individual needs.

I have two years of classroom teaching experience with k-11 grades. I worked with groups of students 15-35 each of my 8 classes. They were all-inclusion classes in which I would focus some time directly helping any students who needed additional assistance. For students who still needed additional help, I offered after school assistance with variety of mediums that where being focused on in the art room, such as: drawing, painting, ceramics, and printmaking.
