"I’m Elizabeth, a published researcher with a background in peer undergraduate biochemistry tutoring, teaching 7th and 8th-grade science, training new hires for pathology labs at Mass General Hospital and Yale, and data science at a market research firm. The breadth of this experience has taught me to tailor my approach to an individual, not to a “system.” I received my undergraduate education at Bowdoin College and graduated with honors in Biochemistry.
My style can best be described as “passionate.” I love the hard sciences (such as biology and chemistry, not psychology, etc.) and find it very satisfying to explain concepts and methods. I’m always seeking to expand my horizons, and my best work is done with students who are engaged and curious!
The math knowledge I offer for tutoring is highly specialized. I am able to create Excel macros, manipulate Excel data with support for charts and tables, and script data processing in SPSS (essential macros for SPSS). Any needs here, don’t hesitate to reach out!
One of my strengths as a science tutor is my ability to tie concepts to their real-world significance. No matter the topic, I can provide specific examples of how principles can be used for practical purposes, such as detecting cancer.
