"My academic background reflects a passion for lifelong learning. Possessing an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, a Master in Science in Education, a Master of Social Work in Clinical Social Work, and a Master in Education in Special Education, I have centered my pedagogical approach to address the whole child and created curriculum that is student-centered.
Following a career in social work, I transitioned to become an educator with the simple goal, share my passion for learning. I began teaching as a 3rd grade teacher, teaching across all content areas. In 2015, I was asked to become part of the faculty at Beecher Road School (Woodbridge School District) where I served as a 6th grade teacher for 6 years, where I became a teacher-leader and taught accelerated 6th grade math. In 2021, when I was later promoted to become the Math Coordinator, I provided intervention services to Kindergarten, 3rd, and 4th grade, providing small group and one-on-one math instruction. In this role, I also had the unique opportunity to create a Pre-Algebra curriculum which I also taught to cohort of 13 accelerated 6th grade students who demonstrated above-grade level competencies in math.
Along with teaching, I began tutoring beginning in 2016. I worked with students in 1st grade through 6th grade, providing both remedial and accelerated lessons. I tutored both in the town library and in student's homes, partnering with the families to ensure learning outcomes were meeting student learning expectations. However, during COVID, I taught online using Google Jamboard and my personal document camera. While I prefer in-person tutoring as it allows for a richer learning experience, I am flexible to provide online tutoring for students who require this type of modality.
It is always my goal to ensure students reach their learning potential. I look forward to learning how I may support your child along their learning journey." less...
