"Greetings! I’m Mel. Nice to meet you!

I’m a proud graduate of Bowling Green State University (1986) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a major in Marketing. In the years following, I worked in the hospitality and international travel businesses.

After nearly two decades of working in the business world, I was ready for a change. I returned to school and graduated cum laude from Miami University of Ohio (2003). This time I completed a Bachelor of Music in Education (a classical music degree).

I've taught in public schools around the country, in all age groups (PK to 12). It was rewarding to teach in the public school classroom environment. However, I’ve found the most satisfaction in teaching/ tutoring in the private studio, where my students have had great success whether school age students or adults. There is no better feeling than working one-on-one with a student, helping them learn, and watching them grow. It’s awesome!

My college level coursework includes Algebra and Trigonometry, Calculus, Engineering Physics, Probability and Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Marketing, Operations Research, Accounting.

My childhood and college years were mainly spent living in Ohio. After finishing school, however, I moved west for some years and eventually met my wife Tracy who has been my companion now for 24 years. When not working I can often be found near water with a fishing rod in my hand – Kayaking, surf fishing, boating, etc.
