"I love teaching, as my many years as a Middle School and High School teacher show. However, over the last several years, I've been able to recharge my love for teaching as a Care Worker in our local elementary school. I began working for the district, 4 years ago, as a Homebound Instructor but soon was offered a full time position in 2nd grade.

To make a long story short, I've continued working with teachers in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classrooms, helping as many as 23 students, at all skill levels, as a Teacher Assistant, assisting with Math teaching, as well as tutoring in all other subject areas.

Having been a High School teacher for over 20 years, and having taught General Math, Technical Math and Computer Math, I believe those classes provided me a firm foundation for understanding what students need, not only at a high school level, but at elementary levels as well. My recent 4 years, tutoring 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders in Math and in other subjects as well, gives me a unique overview of younger student needs and their learning methods.

I try to make learning fun and not boring. But, don't mistake that for making the tutoring easy or a "cake walk"! Expect to be challenged. Also, I expect you to be an active learner.. you and I need to work as a team. Let's work together to make our sessions interesting but also in a way that works for you.
