"I have a passion for learning and education. Gaining a better understanding of a subject is my personal goal as a life-long learner as well as my goal for students who I tutor. I believe in personalized instruction and appreciate that one-on-one tutoring gives me an opportunity to be creative and inventive in each session. Using a variety of techniques I work to help students learn in the best way they can.
I have a master's in chemistry and a bachelor's in chemistry education which I have used to teach introductory undergraduate chemistry courses for 8 years and 7-12 grade math and science courses before that. I have also tutored for a variety of math and science courses including three years as a master tutor at a community college. During all that time I always tried to make myself available to my students outside of class for extra help. Understanding of concepts takes a different amount of time for each person so I wanted to make sure that I could offer that extra time if needed.
My primary background is in chemistry but I have taught a wide range of science subjects. I love all sciences and try to stay current and continue to learn more about each field.
I want my students to succeed in their education so I try to be flexible with scheduling. I also know that prompt responses are important and respond to requests in a timely fashion. Please feel free to contact me with any questions about myself, my tutoring or to schedule a session." less...
