"I've been taking advanced level courses since I was in middle school, learning algebra 1 and taking 9 AP classes in high school. I passed a lot of the AP exams I took with above a 3 leading me to get 27 college credits. I've taken English honors during grades 9 and 10 and then took AP Language and AP Literature in high school as well. I've taken Algebra 1 through AP Calculus AB during high school as well, never ending a class with lower than a B+. I'm a native Turkish speaker and I also took a language exam in high school that gave me 3 Turkish credits.
I've been tutoring for almost 5 years. I've tutored in 3 subjects including Turkish, English, and Math. I've taught a variety of students from ages 8-60s on online platforms and in person meetings. When I'm first starting out with a student I like to ask them what their goals are for the tutoring sessions. Then I will asses their level and see what we need to work on during our lessons. For English and math lessons this can be certain mathematical concepts we need to do practice problems on to understand better and for English it can be spelling words and practicing writing them over and over again to remember them. Understanding how much students want to learn is especially critical in Turkish because some people just want to have basic understanding while some people want to learn until they are fluent.
I've tutored a high schooler student in Geometry and then Algebra 2, our lessons lasted for 2 years and we met up once a week in person. The next student I taught was a 2nd grader and I helped him with reading and writing as well as second grade math. We met up twice a week in a combination of online and in person meetings and went over his previous homework or spelling questions. My next student was in Turkish, she was 27 years old and we met up once a week online for 90 minutes and this lasted about 6 months. My next student is in her 60s learning Turkish we would meet up once or twice a week, our lessons lasted about 5 months." less...
