"Hi, my name is Riya, and I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Life Science. The philosophy of my chemistry teacher, who taught elements of chemistry with elements of humor, can be summed up as “Learn with fun.” The best class I had in college was also the most challenging one - physics. What made it the best class was the professor’s interactive teaching style, which reflected his dedication and passion for the subject matter. This understanding guides my approach to tutoring.
During college, I tutored math, physics, chemistry, and biology over Zoom during the COVID-19 pandemic. I met one-on-one with students who needed help completing homework assignments or preparing for upcoming exams. After graduating, I provided lessons in math and English at the local literacy council to nontraditional adult learners studying for the GED or learning English as a Second Language.
Through my diverse experiences, I have learned that every student is different and has an individual way of learning. It is my responsibility as a tutor to provide an environment that will foster maximum learning and meet each student’s unique needs. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or if you’d like to schedule a lesson." less...
