"My name is Levi! I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in BioHealth Sciences from Oregon State University. One thing that I feel makes me different from other tutors is that I have had to learn multiple different learning styles and study methods from high school and beyond. During college, I worked as a tutor and academic mentor for the student athletes at the Beth Ray Center for Academic Support on OSU’s campus. As a tutor, I gave lessons in various courses such as college algebra, pre-calculus, biology, and chemistry. As an academic mentor, I helped student athletes with their schoolwork and helped them develop productive study habits and time management skills. I would most often work one on one with students, but also helped my students in group study settings.
My approach to tutoring involves an initial meeting to assess your baseline understanding and needs. I believe that every student is unique in their learning strategies and can be open and honest about their expectations from tutoring. Overall, there is no one size fits all appointment with me. They will generally involve a review of the week’s material, practice questions, and concept review in a method that suits your learning style; however, if a different type of lesson style works better for you, I am open to work with your needs!
