"I'm Eric! I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Double Bachelor's in Computer Engineering & Computer Science, and a minor in French. I also have a Master's in Computer Science with a 3.93/4 GPA. In college, I was exposed to a variety of teaching styles and noticed that certain unique teaching fundamentals such as the use of simpler and more relatable examples, as well as practicing on the new subject through exercises, allowed me to better learn those subjects and in most cases become the model student in the classroom. This style worked even in classes that were not my favorite at first or deemed difficult by my peers. I have based my tutoring approach on these fundamentals to easily introduce a new subject to my students and engage them in not only learning how to solve a problem but fully understanding the concepts being exemplified.
I worked as a Mentor during my undergraduate for two and half years and was a Graduate Teaching Assistant during my Master's for a year and a half. During my time as a mentor, I tutored 15+ students per week on a 1-on-1 basis in subjects of math ranging from College Algebra to Calculus 3, as well as introductory programming in Python, C, C++, and Java programming languages. Throughout my time the students I tutored all improved their grades and were in the top 5% of their classes.
My goal is to teach my students the concepts rather than making them good at only answering questions. I teach my students to use these critical concepts in all areas of math. I always welcome new suggestions from students or parents as I believe we are lifelong students and can always learn something new. I am easy to reach out to and will always provide fast responses. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!" less...
