"Hello, I'm Evelyn, and I'm a senior Intercultural Studies major minoring in Biology and Biblical Studies! I have a 3.98 GPA and have remained on the Dean’s List each year. In high school, I completed 7 AP classes which included Biology, English, Chemistry, Calculus, Environmental Science, and more. During my first year of college, I struggled to optimize my study habits and time management, so I've had to rework my methods of studying to achieve exceptional grades and comprehension. Meanwhile, I noticed other students struggling in the same academic areas, which compelled me to become a tutor to help them create methods of learning that would be advantageous to suit their needs and reach their goals. My areas of focus have been university Introduction to Chemistry, General Chemistry I, Biology, Environmental Health, and Anthropology. I primarily facilitate one-on-one personalized sessions, but have also worked with 10+ students in classrooms, through a tutoring center, and various other group settings. I’ve also had success tutoring via Zoom and would be happy to accommodate each student’s needs. I'm also honored to share that much of my experience has included students with learning disabilities, so I look forward to working with a wide range of students. Although I tutor college students most frequently, I also enjoy tutoring K-12 students. Combined with previous tutoring experiences, tutoring at the University level in the last three years has refined my approach to creating unique plans for diverse students and their individual styles and cadences of learning. This may look like students explaining solutions as they practice, observing how I would approach the problem or other various methods.
