I have had a varied career as an academic, business executive, government official and non profit manager. I have a passion for teaching and learning especially when it comes to helping young people. I am married and have three children. I currently am an adjunct faculty member at Cleary University teaching financial management, economics and global healthcare. Previously, I served as an adjunct professor at Washtenaw Community College teaching business, innovation and entrepreneurship, at Concordia College teaching marketing and Wayne State University teaching strategic management. Earlier in my career, I was Director of Technology at the University of Michigan Medical School, a program officer with the US State Department, a Gas "Coordination" Executive with Shell International Petroleum Company, Director General Aid and Development programs in Bangladesh for the World Council of Churches, Special Advisor to the Deputy Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia on Aid and International Development and CEO cofounder of several private companies. I am very widely read and have a great interest in new ideas and technologies that improve education and training. I have also been an advisor to the Ann Arbor Schools and the Washtenaw Intermediate School District (WISD) on the use of technology and new teaching methodologies in primary and secondary education and school-to-work programs. I was educated in private boarding schools in Europe and the US growing up. Besides English, I also speak French and German. I was born in the Hague in the Netherlands, though I have been a US citizen since birth - my parents are Americans who have lived in Europe throughout my life.
