"Hi, I’m Dee. I graduated from Ohio State with both a BS in Computer Science from the College of Engineering and an MS in Mathematics, but I have a wide variety of interests from languages to skiing to Jazz. Since then, I’ve had decades of experience as a math instructor and tutor at various community colleges and with middle school and high school students.

There are some students who believe that math is useless, but I see math all around us, I know why we need to learn it, and I’m passionate about showing others why they should care too. I believe that every student assigned to a math class has the ability to succeed in math if they have the right teacher and motivation. I also believe that students with ADHD are some of the most creative and interesting people I know. Every student is unique, with different strengths and weaknesses, so each requires his/her own approach. That’s why I usually prefer a Socratic method; the habit of asking questions not only helps keep a student engaged in the exact topic they need to master, but also assists the student long after the teacher is out of the picture.
