There, I was a tutor at the Writing Center for around three years and had over 370 conferences in which I worked with undergraduate students at all stages of academic and professional writing in a variety of disciplines ranging from humanities to hard sciences. In addition, I have worked as a Literary Intern at Folio Literary Management, where I reviewed novel-length prospective and current client manuscripts in commercial fiction, literary fiction, and nonfiction for two established literary agents.
My experience has given me the skills to assist undergraduates, graduate students, and adult learners at any point in the writing process in academic, professional, and creative writing. I have worked with first-year college essays, literature essays, research papers, public policy memos, scientific lab reports, seminar papers, theses, application essays, personal statements, resumes, cover letters, short stories, poetry, novel-length manuscripts, and more. I am glad to start at any point in the writing process from developing ideas for a blank page to identifying revisions for a final draft.
It is important to me that tutoring is a collaborative process that focuses on strengthening your writing short-term and long-term and retaining your authorial voice. While I will guide you through the writing process, you will always make final decisions about your writing. I want to ensure that you leave our sessions feeling more confident about your writing process and the next steps that you will take with it. I look forward to working with you!" less...
