"Hello, my name is Byron! I hold a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration. In university, I tutored fellow students in various accounting courses. Accounting is a very technical and niche discipline; and as such, due to its nature many students found it to be challenging. As a tutor, I created lesson plans that outlined the fundamentals which are the basics that must be understood as well as an outline of the specific concepts in an intuitive and straightforward way. Each lesson plan also presented the student the opportunity to practice the material on their own. The method and technique would be adjusted in accordance to each student’s individual needs. I also tried to find corky and fun ways for students to remember certain topics and concepts as some of the material was considered “dry” and uninspiring.

I have over 10 years of experience in public accounting as well as hold my certified public accountant licensure (CPA). The CPA designation is the highest and most prestigious recognition in the accounting profession. Within my work responsibilities, I tutored new hires on the CPA exam, specifically financial accounting, in group and individual settings. The group setting included 3-6 individuals that were mostly focused on answering clarifying questions whereas the individual sessions were targeted at specific concepts, methodologies, and building confidence on the subject matter. I also tutored managerial accounting as well as tax accounting.
