His credits include 4 years on the staff of the PBS NewsHour covering national and international events, and the newsrooms of CBS affiliates in Minneapolis, Dayton, and Colorado Springs. Closely involved in creating marketing and promotion videos, some of Dave's work includes promoting renewable energy, sustainable practices, nutrition education and organic food, and employee motivation videos. He’s earned two degrees in art, filmmaking, and photography, owns and is proficient with the latest HD video cameras, LED lighting equipment, sound gear, and computer editing software such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, and related programs.
Dave’s broad and lengthy experience helps students understand every step of the video production process: conceiving and choosing a story approach, developing and executing logistic plans, directing and interviewing skills, creative and technical essentials of shooting in the field and studio, and how to make it all come alive on the screen in editing and post-production.
