I taught ASL for more than 20 years to a variety of different individuals and in a variety of different settings (i.e., churches, schools, colleges, hospitals, and the like). I took the Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) and scored high, with a rating of Superior. When learning ASL, you will also learn about the deaf culture as both go hand in hand. For me, ASL is more than a job; it is a way of life, and I have taken great pride in being a native ASL user.
