"I have both a passion and the background for teaching. My experience tutoring involves volunteering at libraries/other local organizations to help teach kids 6-15 years old for over 60 hours, running an organization to educate the community/school about the environment for over 30 hours, and freely tutoring my classmates for upcoming exams. My teachings so far include: up to AP Calculus level math, AP essay-writing, AP text analysis, various Environmental/Sustainability topics, and various Art techniques (drawing, painting, crafts, realism, geometric art, etc).

I have taken many AP Exams including Calculus 1, Literature, Language, Env. Science, and Psychology, with a score of 4 or 5 in all of them. I have also taken the SATs multiple times with a final score of 1520. My experience studying for these exams and knowing the mistakes I made lets me offer my expertise not only on specific topics but also on the experience of taking the exam. I aim to make students feel more comfortable going into their exams, knowing the content as well as what the test is like, test taking strategies, time management, stress management and focus.

The best kind of teaching I’ve encountered comes from people with a strong, visible passion for what they teach. I strive to be that teacher who helps others understand and appreciate what they are learning, giving whatever knowledge I can and gaining new perspectives from my students. I encourage all and any questions while we learn - even questions out of pure curiosity! The more we learn and appreciate a topic, the better we can remember and apply that knowledge and I want all my students to have that outcome. If a topic comes up that I am not entirely familiar with, I will do my best to find another source for you.
