"My name's Andrew, and I've been immersed in education for over a decade. From group sessions during the pandemic to private tutoring and public school teaching, I’ve gained a wealth of experience helping students achieve their goals.
I started my teaching journey in high school at Kumon, tutoring at just 16. In college, I joined the UT Dallas tutoring staff and led Peer-Led Team Learning groups. After graduation, I taught English internationally with EF, earning commendations and even conducting a Chinese-language seminar on helping shy children speak. Back in the U.S., I worked as a math teacher at Aiea High School, where our students improved their grades by 25% in one year.
As a tutor, I take pride in crafting lessons tailored to each student’s unique needs and learning style. My approach focuses on simplifying complex concepts, encouraging critical thinking, and fostering confidence. Lessons are interactive and engaging, combining hands-on activities, real-world examples, and technology to make learning accessible and enjoyable. I’m committed to celebrating every milestone and supporting students every step of the way.
No matter the subject, I strive to make learning a collaborative process. I listen carefully to students’ concerns, identify their strengths, and adapt my methods to ensure they feel confident and motivated. I believe furthermore in facilitating a highly encouraging atmosphere. It is amazing what students will do when they know someone believes in them!
Math and Chinese are two of my favorite subjects to teach because they often seem daunting at first glance. My goal is to break these subjects into manageable pieces, helping you build a strong foundation and steadily gain mastery. A year from now, you’ll be amazed at how far you’ve come!
I’m excited to work with you and help you achieve your dreams. Let’s get started!" less...
