"After receiving my Masters in Counseling Psychology in 2005, I have worked in the field of education specifically with middle and high school students with learning differences for the last 12+ years. My tenure in education includes serving as an administrator at two San Francisco Bay Area high schools which solely serve students with learning challenges. I bring knowledge of quality support systems for students (and all those working with them!), assistive technology, teaching principles and a student-centered approach. I have taught social skills, assisted students with post-secondary placement and transition skills as well as tutored students in various subject areas. I thrive on building relationships with the students with whom I work and aim to meet a student wherever he or she may be. I work diligently to identify strength and challenge areas and assist students to understand information, self-advocate and identify ways to solve problems. I am a strong believer in the process of learning and enabling students to find ways to enhance their own learning process. Identifying assistive technologies and innovative techniques that can assist a student in accessing and processing information is also another key focus of the work I focus on with my students.
I am experienced at working with students with ADHD, ASD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Anxiety, Depression, Emotional Challenges and additional special needs as well. I also am working towards my graduate certificate in Behavior Analysis through the Behavior Analysts Certification Board." less...
