"My name is Dr. Mike, and I graduated with a BS in Biopsychology, and a minor in Chemistry. I am a retired denist with a DDS degree. Throughout my professional career, I have been an educator at NYU, Columbia and Yale, and have done tutoring with students ranging in age from elementary school to dental school. In addition to my science training, I also have a deep interest in history and social sciences. I have found that in teaching small groups or individual tutoring that I can provide the type of learning experience to get students "through the Fog" of a challenging subject matter. I work with the curriculum that is provided, but I will also attempt to enrich the topic through tips and alternative ways of viewing the subject matter. I will usually begin the session with a quick review of the previous session, and will allow time for clarification and specific goals at the end of the session.

I am serious about each session, but do try to keep things pleasant and upbeat, thus encouraging students to embrace the material at hand.

I have taught and tutored students in a wide variety of topics including biology, psychology, physics, chemistry, psychology, sociology and history on both the elementary, middle school and high school levels. In addition, I have experience working with children in after school and summer camp settings. I believe that a good education is fundamental to career success, and that sometimes students just need a little extra help and guidance.
