For 16 years, I worked as an instructional aide in the Special Education/Resource department of a local elementary school, helping students who struggled with mathematics. I have a lot of patience with children, and always give positive reinforcement to my students. I have worked with Common Core at the elementary level and am able to help my students understand this process.
I am also very knowledgeable of Algebra and Geometry and tutor older students as well. I love working with children of all ages and am eager to share my love of math with them all. I actually had one of my students say to me, "Miss Rebecca, I love math!" It was so rewarding to see his huge smile and the self-confidence he had gained.

Using Common Core, we will use models, as well as algorithms, to solve many of the math problems. I always try to ensure that my students have a good understanding of math fundamentals, which I feel is necessary for future math success." less...
